Daoma Winston was a prolific genre author who published nearly 70 books of fiction, including mystery, romance, historical, horror, and science fiction books. Several of her books were set in DC or Maryland, including The Haversham Legacy (1975), which takes place in the aftermath of the Civil War, and Mira (1982), about a DC housewife drawn into a secret life of obsession and crime. Winston was born in DC, and graduated from George Washington University.
