Doug Lang

Born in England, Lang came to the US in 1973, and began teaching at the Corcoran College of Art in 1976, remaining on the faculty for 37 years. He ran a bi-weekly poetry reading series at Folio Books in Dupont Circle (1976-78), and is the author of two novels and numerous books of poems, including Magic Fire Chevrolet (1980), dérangé (2013), and the posthumously published In the Works (Edge Books, 2023).

This colonial revival building originally served as a hotel as well as apartments. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
