Roland Flint

(February 27, 1934January 2, 2001)

Roland Flint, the author of nine books of poems, served as Poet Laureate of Maryland (1995-2000), and taught at Georgetown University for over 30 years (1968-1997).

A former marine, Flint was also a translator of poetry from Bulgarian to English. For many years, he edited Poet Lore, the literary journal of the Writer’s Center. His books are: And Morning (1975), The Honey (1976), Say It (1979), Resuming Green (1982), Sicily (1987), Pigeon (1991), Hearing Voices (with William Stafford, 1991), Stubborn (1990), and Easy (1999).
