Thrash was author of a book of poems, The Fateful Apple (2014). She taught as an adjunct professor at Trinity College, the University of the District of Columbia, and American University, as well as in women’s correctional facilities, and worked as an editor and speech writer for DC Mayor Muriel Bowser. Co-editor of Beltway Poetry Quarterly, and co-director of the Word Works’ Joaquin Miller Poetry Series, Thrash was also a Cave Canem fellow. She died of heart failure at age 52.
